Soap Stone Construction (“Soap Stone,” “we,” “us”) operates soapstonehomes.com. This page explains what information we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

We keep this short and honest rather than padded with boilerplate we don’t actually do. If something below changes as the site changes, we’ll update this page.

Information we collect

When you fill out a form on this site

We have three types of forms: a consultation request (Hire a Pro), a coaching inquiry (DIY Coaching), and a membership signup (Home Care). Depending on the form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and details about your project. The Home Care form also asks for your property address if you choose to provide it.

When you download a free guide

Our free guides (“How to Vet a Contractor” and “Know When to Call a Pro”) ask for your email address, and optionally your first name, before sending you the download link.

When you make a purchase

Purchases — DIY planning kits and Home Care deposits — are processed by SureCart and Stripe, not by us directly. We never see or store your full card number. SureCart and Stripe collect your name, email, billing address, and payment details to process the transaction, under their own privacy policies (linked above).

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• Respond to your inquiry or schedule the consultation, coaching call, or service you requested
• Send you a purchased digital product or a free guide you requested
• Follow up about a Home Care membership or an in-progress quote
• Keep a record of past inquiries and customers for our own business purposes

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use it for advertising or share it with marketing companies.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not currently run analytics or advertising tracking — no Google Analytics, no ad pixels. The cookies that are set come from WordPress itself (to keep the site functioning) and from SureCart/Stripe during checkout (to keep your cart and payment session working). If we add analytics in the future, we’ll update this section to say so.

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google’s servers means your browser makes a request to Google, which can see your IP address as part of that request — the same as visiting any page with an embedded Google resource. Google’s own privacy policy governs that data.

Who we share information with

We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that make this site and our business work:

• SureCart & Stripe — to process payments
• Our email provider — to send you the emails you’d expect (a quote confirmation, a guide download, a reply to your inquiry)
• Our web host — to store the site and the information submitted through it

We may also disclose information if required to by law.

How long we keep your information

We keep inquiry and lead information for as long as it’s useful to our business relationship with you, or until you ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept as required for accounting and tax purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we have on file for you
• Correct information that’s wrong
• Delete your information, unless we’re required to keep it (e.g., for tax records)
• Stop emailing you

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for homeowners and is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
