Modern Condo Renovation in Des Moines, IA

This modern two-bedroom condo started out with a very traditional look. The owners came to us with a definite plan in mind, and we worked with them to create a space that was both stylish and functional.

One of the biggest challenges of this project was sound transmission. The condo is located in a busy area, so it was important to make sure that the noise from neighboring units was kept to a minimum. We insulated all of the walls that adjoined other units, and we also installed a sound-dampening material under the flooring.

Another important consideration was accessibility. The owners wanted to make sure that their condo was wheelchair-accessible, so we widened the hallways and doorways.

The overall design of the condo is modern and minimalist. The walls and ceilings were smoothed out to create a clean, uncluttered look. The cabinets, counters, and lighting were all sourced from Italy, and they add a touch of luxury to the space.

The flooring is light-colored hardwood, which helps to keep the spaces from feeling too dark. The bathrooms and patio have a simple grey tile that ties everything together.

One of the most unique features of the condo is the lighting. We wanted to provide adequate light without cluttering up the ceiling, so we used a combination of recessed lights, track lights, and small accent lights. The result is a space that is both bright and airy.

The condo is also equipped with a number of other high-end features, including:

In addition to these features, we also made sure to incorporate a number of sustainable elements into the design. The cabinets are made from sustainably harvested wood, and the lighting fixtures are all energy-efficient. We also used low-VOC paint and flooring materials to minimize indoor air pollution.

During construction, we used HEPA air scrubbers and sticky mats to control dust, as well as Ramboard floor protection to prevent damage to the hardwood flooring.

We are proud of the work that we did on this project, and we believe that the owners will be very happy with their new home. The condo is a perfect example of how modern design can be both stylish and functional.
