Minburn Has 159 Houses. We'd Like to Work On More of Them.

Minburn is small in a way that's hard to overstate — a fifth of a square mile, laid out along the old Des Moines Valley Railroad line in 1869, with about 160 housing units total inside the city limits. It's the kind of place where you can still get a free cup of coffee at the bank, the co-op, or the library, and the old railroad depot is still a recognizable landmark even though the trains stopped mattering to the town's economy a long time ago. The Raccoon River Valley Trail runs through, connecting Minburn to Dallas Center and Perry for anyone on a bike.

A town this size doesn't have neighborhoods in the way bigger places do — it has a set of houses, most of them old enough to have real history, and owners who tend to know their contractor by name rather than by review site.

• Additions and renovations for the handful of newer builds in and around town
